Japan is a photobook from my first trip there, 9 November to 4 December 2024. I left unsure whether I'd be drawn more to the cities or to the countryside, and found I didn't have to choose.

Narrow alleys, station platforms, harbours, shrine gates and country roads sit side by side, the fast Japan and the still one. The pages are quiet on purpose: one photograph at a time, colour and black and white together, each with a short caption and room to slow down and look.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Made to outlive me, and then some

  • A photobook of 84 pages, first published in Copenhagen in 2025. Open edition. There is no certificate and no numbering; there is a book I made and stand behind.

  • A short introduction, then photographs made across Japan between 9 November and 4 December 2024, from city streets to coastlines and quiet country stops. Every image has a caption with its place.

  • Shipping is calculated at checkout by destination. Anything that arrives damaged or wrong is replaced or refunded if you email me within 14 days of delivery.
